Roundup: Tech worker opposition to AI

Are we starting to see a new wave of tech worker activism, fueled by Silicon Valley’s participation in Israel’s campaign against Palestinian civilians paired with their irresponsible deployment of AI products? It certainly looks like it. I have a few comments on that this week.

Over on Tech Won’t Save Us, I spoke to Dharna Noor about the deception involved in promoting plastic recycling to the public instead of actually reducing the amount of plastics being created by industry. It’s an interesting discussion about an industry-sponsored push that began in the 1970s.
