The thing to do is GET THE RICH OUT OF POWER WORLDWIDE.

One Person One Vote or it's not a democracy.

You also don't live in a Democracy when you don't pay attention to it. "Oh darnit", yes, you have to go to town meetings [insert Norman Rockwell painting here.]

YOU HAVE TO PAY ATTENTION.

Whether elon musk is antisemitic or not, he is a fascist. He talks, acts and dreams like a fascist, which is much worse.

USA stinks and if their bad relationship with Europe and American countries continues to grow, that will make China get advantageous relationships all over the world. And... Beware! If one day fascism corrupts the USA at the same level it did during the german nazi reich in part of Europe, China (with the help of the rest of the world) will destroy USA the same way the nazi Reich got destroyed at the end of World War 2.

TikTok and others aren't allowed to supposedly meddle in US politics but American company execs can? I would love to see the rest of the world start banning their products until the execs lose all power and can't be a force of bad any longer. Unfortunately I think that would turn someone like Elon Muck into a martyr figure and get more people behind him and the US politicians he supports.

There are some of the online Left that claim fascism isn't palatable enough for the fractured mass, so Musk's falsely autistic demeanor and compulsive lies are perfect for maximum appeal of this new brand of cryptofascism.

Although it's still early to go all out antifascist and reach for any 3D printer and inordinate amounts of fertilizer, it's great that you point out that we should not mistake who we are dealing with and that we are not just delusionally chasing ghosts.

Even if this new fascism is weird, stupid and ridiculous, we shouldn't just laze around until it gets effective and popular to counter it, online first, if that's worth something.

It's worth to remember that any machine is good to kill fascists.

Further gutting govt capacity? Isnt the govt burning through trillions in cash, operating at a deficit? DOGE’s abilities or process could be critiqued once it gets going I think, but it’s mission feels pretty popular and needed

"Clever right-wing actors know that by peeling off liberals and progressives, and getting them to accept the premise that DOGE is a good faith effort, and that there can be “common ground” around abstract nouns like “efficiency,” they can dull opposition and reinforce an image in the minds of the average person: that the highly contestable premise –  – that there is some objectively true reality of “government waste” crippling our economy –  – is broadly agreed upon, rather than being a fake thing invented by greasy conservative extremists who want to put a centrist veneer on their far right schemes to gut worker rights, the environment, minority protections and unions. It’s becoming less popular by the day. Just taking the idea of eliminating FEMA, this is going to hit the red states much harder than the blue. Trump wanted to hurt California but will end up hurting Georgia, Florida and Oklahoma much more. As we are heading into tornado season to be followed by hurricane season this fiasco will become much unpopular. And God help the government when the elderly start getting thrown out of nursing homes.
